Camera software for symbian 3

Posted by Steve in News Comments , Mar 12th. This is a Delight custom firmware release that many have been asking for - the Nokia This device didn't get released as widely as the Nokia but has many positive attributes, as listed here in my comparison with the Nokia N8. And owners on AAS have been literally crying out for the Delight custom firmware to take them away from Nokia's ceased firmware track and onto something more dynamic and with far more benefits.

Step in the Delight team with some welcome news. Posted by Steve in News Comments , Feb 18th. Since Delight custom firmwares came onto the Symbian scene, the most asked question of all was: when will this come to the Nokia E7 Communicator? With its full width fold out QWERTY keyboard, the E7 remains somewhat unique in the smartphone world, yet it has been held back by lack of updates from Nokia.

With the arrival of Delight CFW v1. Posted by Steve in News Comments , Feb 3rd. As everyone's now aware, the Nokia Store for Symbian apps is effectively frozen as of midnight tonight. Which means no updates, no new applications - nothing at all.

Of course, a lot of the content can stay as-is and will still be downloadable , but there are bound to be updates needed in order to maintain compatibility with external services, plus there will always be some bugs needing addressing.

Begging the question of how such updates can reach Symbian enthusiasts across the globe. Posted by Steve in News Comments , Jan 1st. You may remember that I'd been experimenting with Delight custom firmware on the likes of the Nokia C7? Well, the next big version of the Delight firmwares is out, simultaneously for the Nokia , N8 and C7, see the links below.

I installed it on the Nokia PureView and have been impressed so far. Posted by Steve in News Comments , Oct 16th. We knew this day would come, but didn't think it would happen so soon. After January 1st, , Nokia is no longer accepting either new applications or updates for existing apps into the Nokia Store. Take two. Start the app again, take aim and tap the on-screen camera icon.

A green progress bar shoots across the top of the screen in a couple of seconds, showing the three 'bracketing' images being captured. There's then about a minute of processing time, with further progress bars creeping along the middle of the screen, keeping you informed about what HDR Photo Camera is up to "Converting Following which you should now have an HDR photo in your Photos application on the phone.

Before continuing, do you want the good news or the bad news? Best go for good, since there's quite a lot of the latter. The good news: HDR Photo Camera does what it claims to do and produces images which can have higher dynamic range than you'd get from the raw Camera application.

Here's an example of an N8-shot image:. Notice the way the sky now has detail - this will have been captured on the lowest exposed bracketing shot and is the most obvious tell tale sign that HDR has been successfully applied. Unfortunately, and this is where the bad news starts to kick in, the image is worse in other ways:.

There's another problem though, in that HDR image techniques might well bump up attributes in lesser cameras, but those in many of Nokia's phones are already pretty darned good.

Top of this list is the N8 itself, of course, ironically, the one device that Intellsys claim to have optimised their application for. But the N8's photos are already stellar. How on earth is a little low resolution, unfocussed trickery going to improve matters? To illustrate what I mean, here's an N8 shot in weak winter sunshine. Thanks for your feedback. Hi, I think you need also a new version of the notes client in your N8.

In my knowledge IBM is currently working with it. If yes, could you please share how did you configure the VPN? I decided to try the new Motorola Atrix 2 running Android 2. Thank you Gustavo, I also updated my Symbian Anna to Belle, and as you said, fancy but worst than Anna regarding usability and portability. Some applications I bought in the past just disappeared and even I need to buy them again or they are not currently compatible.

Sadly I will evaluate other options too, like Android or iOS for my next phone after several years with Nokia.
